Remember that time De La Soul was on Teen Titans GO! ? Well, I do! After all, I am still a kid at heart. The trio teamed up with Teen Titans Go! to bring awareness to their frustration with Tommy Boy and their view on digital royalties. The episode, titled “Don’t Press Play,” is probably a hint towards their message to their fans asking them not to stream their records on digital platforms due to these prehistoric and unfair royalty agreements.
In the episode, the Teen Titans teach a basic lesson on artist royalties and intellectual property. I definitely enjoyed the episode and recommend it highly.
